Top six of the most unusual hotels in Europe

We often choose hotels either next to some sights or in the historic center, or in the quiet location where one can immerse oneself in local life. In other words, an hotel is a kind of a terminal for us before getting real impressions, but who told that a place to spend a night cannot give a plenty of emotions and memories itself? Below we would like to present the most extraordinary, special and memorable hotels in Europe.

1) Null Stern Hotel, Switzerland

Null stern means “zero stars”, but hold off on being scared. The creators of the project promise that there is still one star, and that is you. Just imagine a room without a lavatory, a wash sink, a ceiling or even walls, all that is there is a bed and two bedside lamps, it is unlikely that you would choose such a room in an ordinary hotel. Now imagine that this bed stands in the middle of the Swiss Alps and mountains serve as your walls, and an endless sky with stars as the ceiling. Actually, there are the lavatory and the rooms with all you need nearby, so in case of bad weather there is an opportunity to wait out or spend a night there with all conveniences in more familiar conditions, and the local butler will even provide you the room service, but otherwise you are completely left to nature and mountain views. It’s just an incredible place!

This hotel is unique for several reasons. Firstly, every year it looks differently and its visiting is strictly limited by weather conditions. The thing is that the Sorrisniva Igloo is completely made of ice and melts every spring, every year it is redesigned for a new theme. Notwithstanding the low temperature, guests can sleep inside, you will be given blankets and sleeping bags that keep warm at -25 degrees Celsius. Moreover, the sauna and jacuzzi are open in the morning.

3) Tree Hotel, Sweden

Many dreamed of a tree house in childhood, but not everyone had one. Now imagine that this house looks like a flying saucer or like a huge nest equipped as a comfortable room inside. All this is possible in the Tree Hotel in Sweden. The idea is for single rooms located directly in the trees. As we already mentioned, they are made in various forms: from more common capsules to a completely unexpected huge bird’s nest, a flying saucer or a completely mirrored cube from the outside, which is difficult to see from afar. But the best thing is the opportunity to see the Northern Lights live from September to March.

6) Jumbo Stay, Sweden

And again the creativity from the Swedes! In the early 2000s, the Swedish airline Transjet went bankrupt, leaving behind a Boeing 747-212B, so that the decommissioned plane would not be idle, it was turned into a hostel, which has more than thirty rooms. The largest of them is a room in the former cockpit with an equipped lavatory and all amenities. When else would you get the chance to spend the night on a real plane while on the ground?
